Free QR Code Generator: No Expiry, No Ads

Paste a link and get a high-resolution QR code that works forever. Many “free” QR sites give you a dynamic code that goes through their server – and when the trial ends it stops working or shows ads. This generator writes your link directly inside the code: no redirect, no account, no scan limit, no ads. Add your colours, a logo and a “Scan me” caption, then download PNG or SVG for print. It also makes Wi-Fi, contact card (vCard), e-mail and phone QR codes.

What should the QR code open?

Static QR code made in your browser: it never expires, has no ads and no scan limit, and nothing you type is sent to us.

What you can make

Link / website QR

Website, restaurant menu, Google Maps location, Google review link, Instagram, YouTube or a PDF – one scan opens it.

Wi-Fi QR code

Guests scan and join your Wi-Fi without typing the password – perfect for cafés, clinics, offices and homes.

Contact card (vCard)

Name, company, mobile, e-mail and website saved to the phone’s contacts in one tap – ideal for business cards.

E-mail QR

Opens a ready e-mail to you with a subject and message.

Phone & SMS QR

Calls your number or opens an SMS with a ready text.

Your brand

Your colours, your logo, rounded or dot style and a caption – exported as sharp PNG or vector SVG.

Quick answer

To make a QR code for a link for free, paste the link, choose colours and an optional logo, and download the PNG or SVG. A static QR code like this one stores the link inside the code itself, so it never expires, has no scan limit and shows no ads – it keeps working as long as the link works. Codes that “expire” are dynamic codes that route every scan through a provider’s server.

How to use it

  1. Choose what the code should open (link, Wi-Fi, contact, e-mail, phone or text) and fill in the details.
  2. Pick your colours and style, and optionally upload a logo and add a caption like “Scan me”.
  3. Download the PNG (up to 4096 px) or the SVG for print, and test it with two phones before printing.

Why do QR codes from other sites stop working?

Most QR websites create a dynamic QR code: the code doesn’t contain your link, it contains their short link (for example qr-site.com/abc123), which then redirects to you. That lets them count scans – and also lets them switch the code off when the free trial ends, show an ad page first, or ask you to pay to “reactivate” it. Thousands of printed menus, flyers and shop windows have been broken this way.

This tool makes a static QR code: your real link is encoded in the black and white squares themselves. Nobody sits in the middle, so there is nothing that can expire, be limited or show ads.

Static vs dynamic QR codes

Want to change the destination later without reprinting? Point the QR code to a page on your own website (for example yoursite.com/menu) and update that page or redirect it whenever you like. You keep full control – no third-party subscription.

Printing tips so every phone can scan it

  • Size: at least 2 × 2 cm for business cards and 3 × 3 cm or more for flyers; for posters, about 1/10 of the scanning distance.
  • Contrast: dark code on a light background. Light-on-dark (inverted) codes fail on many phones.
  • Quiet zone: keep the white margin around the code – don’t crop it.
  • Logo: keep it small; the tool raises error correction automatically so the code still scans.
  • Short links scan faster: long links make denser codes – remove tracking clutter you don’t need.
  • Test before printing: scan with an iPhone and an Android phone, from print size.

How to count scans without a paid plan

Add UTM parameters to your link, for example yoursite.com/?utm_source=qr&utm_medium=flyer&utm_campaign=autumn, then see the visits in Google Analytics. Need a menu page, a landing page or analytics set up properly? I build fast business websites and landing pages.

Frequently asked questions

Does this QR code expire?

No. It is a static QR code: your link is stored inside the code itself, not on our server. It has no expiry date and no scan limit, and it works as long as the link it contains works.

Is the QR code generator really free, without ads?

Yes. It is completely free, needs no sign-up, adds no watermark and never shows ads to the people who scan your code – they go straight to your link.

Why did my old QR code stop working?

It was probably a dynamic QR code from a site that redirects every scan through its own short link. When the free trial or subscription ended, the redirect was switched off. Create a static code here and reprint it.

Can I add my logo to the QR code?

Yes. Choose “Upload my logo”. The tool places it in the centre and automatically uses higher error correction so the code still scans. Test it with two phones before printing.

Can I change the link after printing the QR code?

Not with a static code – the link is printed in the squares. If you need to change it later, point the code to a page on your own website and update or redirect that page whenever you want.

How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?

Choose Wi-Fi, type the network name and password and select the security type (usually WPA). Guests scan it with the phone camera and connect without typing. The password stays in your browser.
