Quick answer

A WhatsApp link has the format https://wa.me/ with the full international number and no +, spaces or leading zero – for example https://wa.me/201012345678. To add a message, append ?text= followed by the URL-encoded text. This generator builds the link, a QR code with your logo and a website button automatically.

How to use it

  1. Choose your country and type your WhatsApp number (without the leading 0).
  2. Optionally add the message customers will send you and choose QR colours and logo.
  3. Copy the link, download the QR code (PNG or SVG) or copy the website button code.

The WhatsApp link format

WhatsApp’s official click-to-chat link is https://wa.me/ followed by your full number in international format, without +, spaces, dashes or the leading zero. An Egyptian mobile number 010 1234 5678 becomes https://wa.me/201012345678. A pre-filled message is added with ?text= and must be URL-encoded – the generator does that for you, including Arabic text and emoji.

Where to use your link and QR code

  • Website: a floating button on every page – the most effective contact method for businesses in Egypt and the Gulf.
  • Instagram, TikTok and Facebook bio: paste the wa.me link so followers can message you directly.
  • Print: put the QR code on menus, business cards, flyers, packaging, receipts and shop windows.
  • Google Business Profile and ads: use the link as your messaging or call-to-action URL.
  • E-mail signatures: add a “Chat on WhatsApp” link under your name.

Tip for QR codes: keep strong contrast (dark code on a light background), don’t print it smaller than about 2×2 cm, and test it with two different phones before printing a large batch.

WhatsApp Business and automation

With WhatsApp Business you can add a catalogue, quick replies and away messages. For higher volume, the WhatsApp Business API connected to n8n automation and an AI assistant can answer common questions, take bookings and send order updates 24/7 – see the automation ROI calculator to estimate the time it saves.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a WhatsApp link?

Add ?text= and the URL-encoded message, for example https://wa.me/201012345678?text=Hello%20I%20need%20a%20quote. The generator encodes Arabic text and emoji correctly.
