Website cost in Egypt 2026 price guide in EGP for landing pages, company websites and WooCommerce stores

Quick answer

In 2026, a website in Egypt typically costs roughly EGP 10,000–35,000 for a landing page, EGP 25,000–150,000 for a company website and EGP 35,000–400,000 for a WooCommerce store, while e-learning platforms and multi-vendor marketplaces usually start around EGP 80,000 and 150,000. On top of the build, budget for yearly hosting, a domain and maintenance. These are approximate market ranges, not a fixed price list: scope, design, integrations and who builds it move the number more than anything else.

"How much does a website cost?" is the first question almost every business owner asks me, and the honest answer is: it depends on what the website has to do. A one-page campaign site and a bilingual WooCommerce store with Paymob, shipping integration and an ERP sync are completely different projects, even if both are called "a website".

In this guide I break down realistic, approximate 2026 market ranges in Egyptian pounds for each website type, the yearly running costs most quotes leave out, and the factors that push a price up or down. The figures are based on published 2026 pricing guides from Egyptian agencies (listed in the sources) and on what I see in the market as a WordPress developer. They are not my personal price list.

Website prices in Egypt 2026 by type

The table below summarises typical market ranges for one-off build costs. Freelancers and small studios usually sit at the lower end; established agencies with custom UI/UX, project management and QA sit at the upper end.

Website typeTypical scopeApprox. 2026 range (EGP)
Landing page1 page, lead form, WhatsApp button, analytics and ad tracking10,000 – 35,000
Company / business website5–15 pages, services, about, blog, contact, often Arabic + English25,000 – 150,000
WooCommerce store (starter)Theme-based design, product catalogue, cash on delivery and one payment gateway, basic shipping rules35,000 – 100,000
WooCommerce store (professional)Custom design, bilingual, several gateways, courier integration, advanced filters, ERP or accounting sync100,000 – 400,000
E-learning platform (WordPress LMS)Courses, student accounts, quizzes, payments, protected video, parent or admin dashboards80,000 – 300,000
Multi-vendor marketplace (WordPress)Vendor registration and dashboards, commissions, payouts, moderation150,000 – 600,000
Fully custom marketplace or web appCustom code, APIs, mobile apps, complex business logicOften EGP 1,000,000+ (large custom marketplaces are quoted in the millions)

Important: these are approximate market ranges for 2026, compiled from public Egyptian pricing guides. Prices change with the exchange rate and inflation, and a real quote always depends on a written scope. Use them to sanity-check offers, not as a contract.

What you actually get at each price level

Landing page (EGP 10,000 – 35,000)

A landing page has one job: convert visitors from ads or social media into leads or orders. At the lower end you get a template-based page with a form. At the upper end you get conversion-focused copy and design, fast loading on mobile, Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking, and A/B-ready sections. If you are paying for ads, the upper end usually pays for itself.

Company website (EGP 25,000 – 150,000)

This is the classic business site built on WordPress: home, about, services, projects, blog and contact. The price rises with the number of unique page designs, a proper Arabic right-to-left (RTL) version, custom animations, and on-page SEO work. One Egyptian agency guide estimates that proper RTL Arabic support alone adds 20–30% to development time, which matches my experience: a real bilingual site is not "translate the text and flip the layout".

WooCommerce store (EGP 35,000 – 400,000)

An online store is a business system, not a brochure. The main cost drivers are the number of products and variations, payment gateways (Paymob, Fawry, Kashier, valU, cash on delivery), courier integrations, invoicing, stock sync, and how much custom design the product and checkout pages need. A starter store can launch on a solid theme; a store that must handle hundreds of daily orders needs custom work, stronger hosting and ongoing optimisation. I go deeper on this in my guide to building a WooCommerce store that actually sells.

E-learning platform (EGP 80,000 – 300,000)

A WordPress LMS (for example Tutor LMS or LearnDash with WooCommerce) needs student and instructor accounts, course builders, quizzes, certificates, payments and, most importantly, protected video. Video hosting is the hidden cost here: storing and streaming protected lessons is usually a separate monthly service billed in dollars. One published 2026 estimate puts a full interactive learning platform at roughly USD 3,000–5,000, with native mobile apps adding another USD 2,000–5,000.

Multi-vendor marketplace (EGP 150,000 – 600,000+)

Marketplaces add vendors, commissions, payouts, product moderation and disputes. A WordPress marketplace built on a proven multi-vendor plugin sits in the range above. A fully custom marketplace with its own apps is a software product; Egyptian agencies quote those from the low millions upward.

Yearly running costs: hosting, domain and maintenance

The build price is only year one. Many cheap quotes look attractive because they ignore the costs you will pay every year. Here are approximate 2026 figures:

ItemApprox. yearly costNotes
.com or .net domainEGP 450 – 1,100Renewal is often higher than the first-year promo price
.com.eg domainAround EGP 900Through Egyptian registrars; needs company documents
Shared hostingAbout USD 1–10 per monthFine for small company sites; weak for stores and LMS
VPS, cloud or managed WordPress hostingAbout USD 20–100+ per monthRecommended for WooCommerce, e-learning and marketplaces
Premium licencesVaries, usually billed in USDTheme, page builder, LMS, multi-vendor, backup and security plugins
Maintenance and securityAbout EGP 1,000 – 5,000 per monthOnline stores often budget 10–20% of the build cost per year

Because hosting, licences and video services are priced in dollars, the exchange rate matters. At the end of September 2026 Egyptian banks were quoting around EGP 52 per US dollar, so a USD 30 monthly server is roughly EGP 1,560 a month. When I plan a budget with a client, I always separate the one-off build cost from the recurring dollar costs so there are no surprises in year two. If you want the server side handled for you, that is exactly what my server and hosting management service covers.

What drives the price of a website in Egypt

When two quotes for "the same website" differ by 5x, the difference is almost always in one of these factors:

  • Design approach: a ready-made theme with your logo is far cheaper than custom UI/UX designed in Figma and built pixel by pixel.
  • Number of unique templates: ten pages that share one layout cost less than five pages that are all different.
  • Languages: a real Arabic + English site with RTL, translated URLs and hreflang takes significantly more time.
  • Integrations: payment gateways, couriers, CRM, ERP, SMS, WhatsApp and n8n automations each add scope and testing.
  • Custom functionality: booking systems, parent dashboards, custom reports or plugins built from scratch are priced as development, not design.
  • Performance and security: a site tuned to score 90+ on PageSpeed and hardened against attacks needs extra work that cheap builds skip.
  • Content: copywriting, product data entry, photography and video are often not included unless stated.
  • Who builds it: freelancer, small studio or large agency, and their experience, support and accountability.

Pricing for clients in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and the UK

I work with clients in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and the UK as well as Egypt, and they often ask how Egyptian pricing compares with their local market. Published 2026 guides give these approximate ranges:

  • Saudi Arabia: landing pages around SAR 3,000–7,000, company websites SAR 8,000–25,000, e-commerce stores SAR 12,000–50,000, and custom platforms such as marketplaces SAR 40,000–120,000. Annual maintenance is often quoted at SAR 1,000–5,000.
  • United Kingdom: a small business site costs roughly £1,500–3,000 with a freelancer or £3,000–8,000 with an agency, and a custom WooCommerce build about £3,000–10,000. Freelance maintenance retainers commonly run £50–150 per month.

This is why many Gulf and UK businesses work with experienced Egyptian developers: the engineering standard can be the same, while the total cost is usually lower. The key is to choose someone with a real portfolio and clear communication, not just the lowest bid.

Hidden costs and red flags in cheap quotes

A low quote is not automatically a bad quote, but check for these before you sign:

  • The domain and hosting are registered in the developer's name instead of yours.
  • "Premium" themes or plugins are nulled (pirated) copies, a common source of malware in the sites I clean up.
  • No backups, no updates and no security plan after launch.
  • No written scope: number of pages, revisions, languages and integrations are left vague.
  • No admin training, so every small edit becomes a paid request.
  • Speed is not mentioned at all, which usually means a heavy page builder setup that fails Core Web Vitals on mobile.

Tip: ask every provider to confirm in writing that you will own the domain, hosting account, admin access and all licences. It costs nothing and protects your investment. If a site you already own was built cheaply and got hacked, my malware removal service can clean and harden it.

How to plan your website budget in 6 steps

  1. Define the goal. Leads, online sales, bookings or course enrolments. The goal decides the type of site, not the other way round.
  2. List must-have features. Separate what you need at launch from "nice to have later". Phase two is cheaper than an over-built phase one.
  3. Choose the platform. For most Egyptian and Gulf businesses, WordPress and WooCommerce give the best balance of cost, flexibility and ownership.
  4. Get a written scope and 2–3 quotes. Compare them line by line, not by the final number.
  5. Budget the yearly costs. Add domain, hosting, licences and maintenance for at least the first two years.
  6. Plan for growth. Keep 10–20% of the budget for improvements after you see real user and sales data.

Key takeaways

  • Approximate 2026 market ranges: landing page EGP 10k–35k, company site EGP 25k–150k, WooCommerce store EGP 35k–400k, e-learning platform EGP 80k–300k, WordPress marketplace EGP 150k–600k.
  • Much of a website's running cost (hosting, premium licences, video and email services) is billed in US dollars, so the exchange rate of around EGP 52 per dollar in September 2026 directly affects your yearly budget.
  • Yearly costs matter as much as the build: domain, hosting, licences and maintenance can add EGP 15,000–70,000+ per year for a serious business site or store.
  • Scope drives price: number of templates, bilingual Arabic/English, payment and shipping integrations, custom features and performance and security work.
  • Compare quotes line by line: who owns the domain and hosting, which licences are included, and what support looks like after launch.

A starter WooCommerce store usually costs about EGP 35,000–100,000, while a professional bilingual store with several payment gateways, courier integration and custom design often ranges from EGP 100,000 to 400,000. Hosting, licences and maintenance are extra every year.

How much are hosting and domain per year in Egypt?

A .com domain costs roughly EGP 450–1,100 per year and a .com.eg around EGP 900. Shared hosting is about USD 1–10 per month, while stores and learning platforms usually need a VPS or managed hosting at about USD 20–100+ per month.

How much does website maintenance cost in Egypt?

Maintenance and care plans are commonly around EGP 1,000–5,000 per month depending on what is included, such as updates, backups, security monitoring, speed checks and content edits. Online stores often budget 10–20% of the build cost per year.

Is WordPress cheaper than a custom-coded website?

Usually yes. WordPress and WooCommerce reuse proven, well-maintained components, so you pay for configuration, design and targeted custom code instead of building everything from scratch. Fully custom platforms make sense mainly for unusual business logic or very large scale.
